Military School, Science and a Hole in the Wall

First, Gabriel has been misbehaving lately so we have threatened military school. We buzzed him all the way around this time. I think he really knew we were cutting all his hair off this time.

We went to the Liberty Science Center today because Gabriel needs a large activity every day so that he can be tired enough to be tricked into taking an afternoon nap. We had a great time and Gabriel loved it. It was great because it was free. Free for Bank of America customers on the first weekend of every month. Gee, that was a great surprise at the ticket counter. The activity is not the only thing necessary to stop the screaming at bed time. Mr. No Naps MUST have a nap everyday or his brain goes nuts at night, even while he is sleeping. It is FREAKISH, he talks, sits up and sleeps with his eyes open all before screaming about Mommy should not leave his room. We must trick him into taking a nap, this weekend he napped in the car and as a result, sleeping was good last night. We will have to have a car ride mid afternoon because he won't nap in his bed but Mommy needs to sleep at least a little at night so that's the current plan to produce good sleeping at night.
He got to really operate a backhoe. He didn't know what he was doing but he had fun.

It was a beautiful day.
Napping on the ride home.

Ok, so that was all fun and games. This was the bomb on our weekend. We had some heavy rain on Saturday and as I was painting Sylvia's room, I discovered a leak on the roof that was leaking right into her room. The drywall was not dry anymore and we had to cut it out to prevent water from seeping farther down. It's not a new leak and I guess I would have noticed it eventually but I guess it's better that we found it before Sylvia gets here so we can try to get a new roof before she gets here. I will work on the rest of the room to make sure I am not under the gun if we can get someone to come to give us a new roof. Anyone know someone that can do a roof for free? This is the primer coat. Next is the color. It might be a little too pink for me but it might be growing on me. It's called Bed of Roses. I'll post a pic when I start the color. Oh, yeah, forgot to mention that Gabriel made his way in there when we were examining the leak. He took the roller out of the paint and rolled paint right onto the carpet. He's an excellent painter.

YIKES! Sorry about the roofing problem. Don't you just love those unexpected expenses??? I'm feeling your pain this week.

Did the nap in the car produce an easier bedtime again?
