Last Two Weeks..........

Everyone can rest easily tonight knowing that small children in Macau and Malaysia are backstitching their little hearts out making American little boy underpants. It was a real pain to unstitch all the tags in Gabriel's underwear.

I'm tired but maybe I'll start up Gabriel again on the potty tomorrow.

I've uploaded our weekend pictures and realized there are more pics that I haven't blogged yet. The recent highlight was our trip to the New Hope railroad on Sunday afternoon. It's not too far from here and Gabriel got a 45 minute ride on a perfectly restored 1920's choo choo train. On the return train trip, Gabriel insisted in sitting in the car right next to the engine but he was afraid to go too close. Sylvia was not scared and we got pictures of her right next to the engine. Gabriel was so thrilled with it. He hung his head out the window like a dog in a car for most of the trip.

The second best highlight of the weekend was Gabriel's (and surprisingly Sylvia's) participation in the annual East Windsor trike-a-thon for St. Jude's. Gabriel rode his scooter as he is strangely anti-bike these days. More fun for Sylvia as I looked back and saw Bryan pushing Sylvia on Gabriel's tricycle. She was having a blast.

Other pics are from the YMCA child learning and development picnic about 2 weeks ago. Gabriel loved it as did Sylvia. Today was sign up day at the YMCA again. I love sign up day when I think of all the fun Gabriel and Sylvia will have at their new classes. I also love the fabulous value of our YMCA. Gotta love cheap fun. Well we spend a lot of money there but the quality for the money is fabulous. Gabriel will be getting private swimming lessons for the summer. His current teacher said he was too advanced for the current class and that private lessons would be perfect for him.

Sylvia decided she was the one who didn't want to go to bed tonight so I'm tired. I may tweek the slide show with more stuff or more videos later this week so check back. I only uploaded quickly to picasa this time.

We also went to a local zoo. Gabriel got to feed the animals by dropping food through little tubes to them. We fed the giraffes bamboo leaves. A good time was had by all.

For those non-sewers out there: "Backstitch or back stitch and its variants stem stitch, outline stitch and split stitch are a class of embroidery and sewing stitches in which individual stitches are made backward to the general direction of sewing." (Wikipedia)

Now who out there can claim knowledge of this lost art? Harland don't be bashful.

Gotta love Sylvia's Elton John shades.

Needless to say I had no idea what backstitching is and will not remember by tomorrow. It looks like Gabriel worked a lot harder last here. This year he didn't break a sweat.

The weather looks so nice, just perfect for little kids to have fun. I did not recognized Sylvia with her awesome glasses. Gabriel is just enjoying the heat. Hope to see you all this weekend on Gabriel's birtday.

Congratulations! Bryan you did it again. Lots of celebration this weekend. (G's birthday, Fathers Day & Bryan Passing the test)

Joys & Blessings,
