Quiz: Get your computer glasses out for this one.

This is a picture of Gabriel sitting in his carseat. The question is, what is different about this picture than all the other pictures on my blog of Gabriel sitting in his carseat.

Keep Guessing...............

Answer: Gabriel is not wearing a diaper in this picture, nor is he utilizing any other urine management device. He's doin' it all on his own now. Today was the first day we went in the car with just underpants. We went to his swimming lesson at the YMCA with no diaper at all. (Mommy was a little nervous) Today was the third day he was peeing all by himself. He's been totally dry for three days (not counting nighttime). Oh, and not counting when he peed on Amy's deck yesterday but I'm giving him a pass on that one. As little boys go this is what happened. He was swimming in Grace and Abby's pool and the good little man told me he needed to come out to pee, so we did. He only was able to squeeze out a little bit and I thought he was done. Turns out it was a wee bit too cold making it difficult for the little man to finish. As soon as he was changed and back in the sun he warmed up and peed on the deck. The little guy is temperature sensitive and he tried so we're still saying he's been dry for three days now.

So in addition to all the other junk I'm carrying around now, now my bag has six changes of underwear and shorts. (and an extra pair of shoes, cause he won't wear shoes that he's peed in, thank goodness for easy rinse crocs)

So now a funny story. We try to pee before and after every activity and we did today so I thought we were golden on the way home. (golden, ha ha, but really folks) On the short ride home from the Y, he says he's gotta pee and I tell him to hold on till I decide where to stop the car and pee. ('cause I didn't buy the car potty yet) I decide I will take advantage of having a little boy (versus girl) and pee on the side of a parking lot. Gabriel did his very first man pee standing on the grass. Of course, I was so happy we both thought he was done and then I put his pants on and more massive pee came out and I ended up having to change him anyway. Then we continued on home. Gabriel didn't think it was strange at all that I made him pee in the grass next to the new liquor store. Aren't kids great?

A momentus day for all.

We have been doing some other fun stuff so here are all our pics in a slide show so click on it. Pics of Gabriel's gymnastics class, maybe some of basketball too. 4th of July pics. Grandma Lucy sent some great birthday hats to we had to eat the left over cake with candles and singing and all that. I took the kids to the farm on Monday and picked our dinner. (I loaded them both up in the wagon, plus my diaper bag, and pulled them both all the way and back plus to wawa since I had not money, that was 50 plus pounds in the hot sun I won't pull again) Yesterday we went swimming in Grace and Abby's pool because Bryan was lucky enough to go to a Phillies game, gee that must be nice.

Gotta go order that car potty now...................

I must say the fireworks show at east windsor was a lot better than I expected considering how puny the town is. How did the kids like the show or did they fall asleep before the fireworks started?

Kevin,

Have you ever known Gabriel to fall asleep when anticipating a party? I thought you would know better. Gabriel of course did not fall asleep till we got home, he enjoyed the fireworks, if you listen carefully to the video you can hear him "wowing". Sylvia was also awake since she wants to do everything her big brother does.

The fireworks setting is pretty cool on the camera. It keeps the shutter open for 2 seconds. I guess the digital camera doesn't have a shutter but you know what I mean. You can see my subtle shake in some of the pic's but I think they turned out pretty good.

Also love the farm pics, we had great grilled vegetables that evening. All picked by my little angels!

I should have know that Gabriel would never fall asleep until the party is over.

Freshly picked vegetables sounds delicious. I am happy to hear that Gabriel at something other than pizza.

It's so nice to see kids full of activities and eating healthy. The pool looks so inviting. Wish the weather was nice when we were there though we still had fun time together.

God Bless,
Lola
