Milestone

There comes a time in a young boy's life when he receives his first train set. It is a milestone. Again, as Grammy cannot help herself, Gabriel is now the proud owner of the Imaginarium lights and sounds table and train set.

There comes a time in a Mommy's life when she realizes she should not undertake to assemble the train and table by herself. I did not want the huge box in my car for the whole week so I decided on Tuesday morning that I would assemble the train set. When I got into it I realized it was probably too much and too heavy for me to do by myself but halfway in there was no stopping and leaving all the pieces out. I thank Elmo for entertaining Gabriel all day while I assembled it. I gave him some tracks and Elmo and that amused him a bit until he insisted on helping me with the screwdriver. He knew what it was and could not wait to play with a few pieces. This is a picture of him dancing with Elmo. Imagine the sweeping arm movements. Of course, sitting in the drawer is much more fun than playing with the train tracks. This is Gabriel screaming with excitement over the completed train set. This is also the photo right before he wrecked the whole thing. Yes, I stayed up that night to glue it all down with Gorilla glue. He has tried without success to wreck it again. So Daddy, you think you can tell ME not to climb on the bed? Screaming because Daddy would not help him get on the bed. This ended up being the best way to hold all the pieces down while the glue set.

Screaming because the magnets on the trains hold them together. This is not a desirable toddler function.

Playing nice with the train set.
