It's a Wiggly Wiggly World

I took Gabriel to see the Wiggles in concert today. We saw the big red car on a really really small stage. The yellow wiggle is really good at K turns. I took him by myself so he could have some quality alone time with just Mommy. Gabriel is having such a tough time with the big brother thing he really needed it. I hope he realized he was having special time with Mommy.

He didn't really know what was going on. He insisted on sitting on my lap for all but about 5 minutes of the whole concert. When they opened the stage and the sound and lights started he was scared and didn't know what to think. He was all about controlled excitement again. He did have a good time and he said he wanted more Wiggles when it was over. I said we would do it again next time with Daddy. I thought our little dancer would go nuts but only for about 5 minutes and then he jumped back on my lap. I tried to get him to clap along and sing too but he just wouldn't. Controlled excitement, I did see some smiles trying to break through. They do a good show and I would recommend it. We had great seats too but every seat there was a great one so we couldn't go wrong.

Gabriel needed some quality time because he is so stressed out from the big brother situation that he fell asleep at 4 PM on Monday and slept till 6:30 AM. Yesterday he couldn't make it past 5 PM but he woke up before 6 this morning so he was exhausted by the time the 3PM show started. He is so tired his behavior is suffering so much. The poor little guy, I just want to hug him so hard and make him better. He started acting up at the Y today and I had to remove him from circle music time for the first time. Looking back at this morning, it was quite embarrassing that I had to do that. Sylvia will no longer be able to accompany us she will just have to learn to enjoy YMCA babysitting for an hour a week while Gabriel and just me go to his parent/child class. We were hoping this big brother stress would improve but it's clearly taking it's toll on him. This is from the little guy who could party all night and day. Let's remind everyone that he is still not falling asleep by himself, he just has a meltdown from about 4PM and I have to see how long I can keep him up before we start the bedtime routine and he falls asleep during the most boring Pooh Bear book that was ever made. He really needs to pick out a new one.

Sylvia is unphased but on the upside, Gabriel's energy and behavior is making her really tired too. She is going to bed after he is at between 7 and 8 which I consider normal. She's still a much better sleeper than he ever was. She hasn't been up during the nite for weeks. When I have some help here, Gabriel does go to bed before Sylvia because I can't take the crazy one upstairs and leave her all alone down here at 4PM-prayers for us please that Gabriel recovers soon, keeping him up until Bryan gets home late is just killing us all-he still can't go to sleep by himself, why not just nap on the couch I say but what do I know?.

That was great idea to give G his quality time with Mom. How thoughtful. He sure is growing in a very amazing way. Sylvia May will have her own way also. God Bless you all.

Joys & Blessings,
