Trik a thon
This morning we went to a trik a thon. We were late and did not get to see the mass cycling but we did see some little kids biking and triking. Gabriel prefers biking over triking. They make big boy bikes so small thess days. It's big boy bikes for little boys. We were lucky enough to meet a very generous little boy who said Gabriel could sit on his bike and wear his hat. Gabriel loved it and wanted to ride but it was just a little too tall for him. Just a bit. There were even smaller bikes there that would have fit Gabriel just fine. He even knows he can't sit on the bike without his HAT. Next year we will actually ride in the trik a thon.
He fell in the parking lot because he was afraid Bryan was going to take his water bottle away and he got a BOO BOO.
Then Mommy picked him right up and he got mud on Mommy. Then he said Mommy had a BOO BOO too.
Even though we didn't ride, he got a medal. It was so hot he had to drink the water bottle all by himself. Wearing the medal, all sweaty and drinking the water. He looks like he just won the race and needs a cool down. Uncle Kevin did say that he has an aerodynamic hair cut.
Ready to race.
Ready to race.

Helmets on a bike with training wheels. That must be a city law. Bryan never wore a helmet riding a bike and look how he turned out.
Love the pictures! He'll have to get a bike and bring it on over to ride in the driveway with Abby and Grace...(We have a trike here he could test out.)
I think it's a state law actually. He even will need a helmet on a tricycle. besides he loves hats.
actually the law defines a bicycle as a vehicle with two wheels, etc...
He does love the hats though so he may demand the helmet.
It seems kids, and society, have pretty much accepted the bicycle helmet since our days roaming the streets so it doesn't seem weird anymore. In fact, I'd probably think it weird to see a kid without a helmet these days.
Back in the good ole' days we would beat up kids who wore helmets. I guess I am just showing my age or that I don't live in suburbia around a bunch of wimpy children. I think Nikol might have something to say about that though.
Thank you all for the Birthday gift and the thought. Gabriel and Lola love and enjoyed the attention. God Bless you all wonderful kids ( Bryan, Kevin, Sandra and Nikol for remembering us. We love you so much. We did a lot today. The Floats are all set for the big Land of the Loon Parade.
