The Romance Is Over

I am quite sad that my happiness with Kiddie Kandids has come to an end. Grammy and I took Gabriel for his 18 month photos last Friday. They are now only selling three packages. The least expensive is 99 bucks. That is totally crazy. The last two times I was there I got a 6 sheet package but now the smallest package is 8 sheets plus some items that would just end up collecting dust. I was told that they change the package offerings every season. This is probably because the holiday season was upon us. What about those of us who don't want holiday pictures? So I bought 6 sheets at the per sheet price and declined spending 20 bucks more for stuff I didn't want. We extend many thanks to the benevolent Aunt Cindy who gave Gabriel a gift certificate.

The rep also didn't want to give me my free sheet I had a redemption code for. I had to insist before she gave it to me.

The photographer was extremely hearing impaired. This does not mean she was not capable of taking a good picture but she couldn't even say his name to get his attention. I couldn't talk to her so making suggestions and interaction was severely hampered. I think it all could have been ok if she had an interpreter.

All that being said, Gabriel is 18 months old and therefore was not interested in having his picture taken. It is quite possible that no photographer could have done any better. He wanted to sit there, look down and build with the wooden blocks. He waved everyone away when we tried to get him to smile. Then he would look at us as if to say, "What are you crazy people doing with that feather duster?"

I really only needed 2 good shots anyway since I wasn't going to buy a ton of poses/sheets. These are all the photos I kept. All the cool kids will be getting some soon. If it turns out you are not one of the cool kids, get over it because they are not currently selling the packages I wanted.

We chose this one with the ladder for the larger prints.

We chose this one cropped for the close up wallet size.

They really are pretty good pictures but I am soured by the experience. That's life.

Oh the suspense of knowing if we are one of the "cool kids." You know I always buy the smallest package and scan the pics and print them myself. Much cheaper!!!

Unfortunately the smallest package was the 99 bucks this time. I did not go that far. I don't have a scanner nor printer for good stuff like that. I mailed the last of the pics to Minnosota and Chicago last night. Print and scan away if you wish if I learn to post better quality pics on this site.

Cute pics! I realized that after all my planning and counting...I still came home short one sheet of wallets...I always get confused in the moment. Even thought I brought a list!
