It has been pointed out to me that I haven't posted in a while. I responded by pointing out that my fans know full well what has been going on here. We are now on Mission: Gabriel Sleep. I have not had the engery to post nor to play with photoshop and I am quite unhappy about it. Free time must be devoted to sleeping and eating. Mostly to sleeping whenever possible. Enemies of "Mission: Gabriel Sleep" include: Sunlight, cold weather and poor insulation, cats, lack of thumb and toddlerhood. These are my enemies.
I may post some pictures of my attempts to vanquish my enemies. I have been busy maintaining my blackout thermal drapes, folding the drapes to double thinkness and velcro-ing the drapes around the window to the wall. We moved the furniture to maximize heat and minimize drafty windows. It is a constant struggle to keep the cats out of there. Apparently, Gabriel's room is a cat party. The lack of thumb has made Gabriel a light sleeper so the heat has been disturbing him (and me)(it makes noise). I have just purchased an electric room heater so he can have heat and quiet. The heater is a story in and of itself. Had to buy three before I got one that worked at all. Like I have time to chauffer electric heaters around Mercer/Middlesex County just for fun. We haven't had any luck overcoming the toddlerhood. I am hoping my latest electric heater trick works magic. I seem to have lost my magic wand, if anyone finds it, please let me know because I need it.
We have been doing some fun stuff though.
Despite the hunger strike. Gabriel will taste stuffed peppers as long has he is permitted to try to feed himself-with a huge slotted spoon.
We have been having tea parties with Hippo and Pooh Bear. Gabriel is the waiter, he wears the cow apron just in case the pretend food spills on him. Hippo and Pooh are very messy eaters.
Hippo likes to be fed with a baby spoon. Hippo tips the waiter extra for that service.
This is a picture of the day Gabriel ate with a fork for the first time. He did not eat a lot with it and had ditched the fork before I grabbed the camera but he did use the fork at least for a little bit. No time to rotate the photo, sorry.
We are also on Mission: Big Boy. We tried the fork until Gabriel got a cold, (me too) and then we needed to concentrate on eating in any way possible. We also tried ditching the high chair and eating at the table like a big boy. He consented to sitting at the table but he insisted on still eating on the booster seat tray. Hey, he at half a grilled cheese sandwich that day.
This is Gabriel feeding the Hippo.
