This is a quick update on Gabriel's thumb treatment. Today we are at the end of week one. The last two days have gone downhill. The screaming is back, "Clarice the screaming, the screaming of the toddler".
Gabriel is generally disgruntled. Naptime and bedtime have been the most difficult. He refuses to sleep in the crib but won't sleep anywhere else. I have to let him cry. He is also like an infant again, waking to scream a few times a night. Things had improved tremendously with his sleeping, now I feel like last year again when I had become the undead.
Disgruntled Gabriel the hurricane is also wrecking the house taking his frustrations out on the poor little toys. They have all become flying toys.
On the upside he has gone a week without the thumb and his teeth actually have started to look better. In the last few days he has not tried to put his thumb in his mouth when the thumb guard is off for cleaning/bathing. Even last night after a bath at Grammy's house, I forgot to put the guard on until after we at dinner and he was getting his PJ's on. He didn't put his thumb in his mouth once. I hope that means all this is worth it. Let's all hope for me, please.

It will all be worth it. I was a thumb sucker. I got myself to stop. My friend who also was a thumb sucker, had parents that put Tabasco sauce on his thumb at night.
Talk about tramatic! I'd take the thumb guard any day.
Sorry to hear things aren't settling down over there! I'm amazed that you can see a difference in his teeth already!
If you get a second...go check out the awesome castle Critch built on his blog...
Sometimes I think he is a little too young to stop with any kind of assistance. If any other method would work I think I would do it. If chewing on the open infection wasn't painful enough to stop him, perhaps nothing will stop it.
Hello all,
I also feel the pain, but it will end one way or another. When it rains it pours but the sun will always shine. Don't give up. You have done wonderful job.
I am very empressed with the picture collage or grouping whatever you call it. It's simply awesome! Things are happening one step at a time. Missing you all.
Love,
Lola
