This is a picture of Gabriel wearing spiderman mittens in the car. He is only slightly unhappy with them on. He hasn't torn them off in the car yet and they have been an effective deterrent in the car so far.
This is a close up of the Thumb Guard.
Close up of the offending thumb.
Alternate thumb chewing deterrent. The amazing spiderman.
The saga begins. The thumb guard came in the mail yesterday. Gabriel was exceptionally crazy last night so we decided we would not start him on it until today. Since it was new, I thought he did not have to wear it to the YMCA this morning. As I am starting myself slow too, we are starting it after his nap today. He is sleeping now. He will need the rest later today as he wrestles with the device. I will need mine too. The instructions say the most effective way, especially for "established suckers" is to wear it 24 hours a day for 60 days straight. Gabriel is certainly an established chewer. He probably does a little sucking on it too.
Stay tuned.

Good luck Gabriel (oh and S & B too..lol) I hope you guys all get some sleep tonight!
I think you'll all have to wait for an Episode II. Ever seen an adult wrestle with an 18 month old?
WAITING.... how is it going over there?
I was just heading over here to see how you guys are surviving over there and I see I'm not the only one! Let's have an update!!!
Despite Gabriel's generally cheerful attitude he's a pretty strong willed guy. I fear this could be a long process.
Last night he still had not put together that the placement of the thumb guard was preventing future sucking so was relatively ok about the thumb guard installation. That has probably changed by today.
Dear BL: aka Daddy. Probably, are you kidding? Good thing no one else was here with us today.
